Promotional banner for the Cartoon Art Museum, Pretty in Ink: The Trina Robbins Collection exhibit, April 2014. This exhibit was based on Trina Robbins’s recent book, Pretty in Ink, so the banner design was inspired by Fantagraphics’ book cover design (although I redesigned the logo for better readability at a distance — typically, for these front window banners, we want to be able to read the logo from across the street). The drawing of the girl is from the comic strip Flapper Fanny by Ethel Hays.
